WEST CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Members of First Baptist Church-West will celebrate the church's 145th anniversary during their 9 a.m. worship service. The service will feature guest minister and church son, Reverend Cedric Jones, Jr., senior pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
Special musical guests will also honor community educator and piano instructor Clara H. Jones, the mother of the Reverend Jones, Jr., for her rich musical legacy as a Charlotte school teacher. First Baptist Church-West is located at 1801 Oaklawn Avenue between Beatties Ford Road and Statesville Avenue.
