A 32-unit apartment building at 137 17th St. E. in Minneapolis sustained heavy damage from a fire that blazed during the early morning hours Friday.
Assistant Fire Chief Cherie Penn said none of the building?s more than 30 residents had been injured. One firefighter was hurt slightly but remained on the scene. Crews were still trying to contain hot spots Friday afternoon, but there was no information about the fire?s cause, Penn said. The apartments were built in 1919, according to county tax records.
